More than 20 years bringing love, dignity and hope to our elders in the Dominican Republic and New York.
To serve our elderly with practical love, dignity and compassion, bringing food, medicine and hope directly to their homes in the Dominican Republic and New York.
That no adult or elderly person in our community feels forgotten. Our hope is a world where every elder lives their golden years with dignity, in love and with their basic needs covered.
Fundación Tiberíades was born from the compassionate heart of José Gutiérrez, who saw the urgent need to provide practical love to our elders in the Dominican Republic and New York.
Since 2004, we have witnessed how small acts of kindness become profound transformations. Every food basket, every medicine delivered, every shared embrace has been a bridge of hope toward a more dignified life.
"True love is measured not by what we say, but by what we do."
"So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." — James 2:17
— José Gutiérrez, Founder
The name Tiberíades carries deep spiritual significance. This city was founded on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias, a central place in the ministry of Jesus.
In John 6:1-15, Jesus crossed the "Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias," followed by crowds. Here the multiplication of loaves and fishes occurred.
In John 21, Jesus appeared to his disciples on the shores of the Sea of Tiberias. Here the miraculous catch of 153 fish and Peter's restoration took place.
John 6:23 mentions that boats from Tiberias transported those seeking Jesus.
The Sea of Galilee (Sea of Tiberias) today
"Just as Jesus fed the multitudes on the shores of Tiberias, we continue that mission of love, bringing the word of the Lord Jesus Christ and physical nourishment with hope to those who need it most."
